ACS Online utilizes a high speed, state-of-the-art, fiber optic backbone to deliver the Internet to our customers. We have peering (interconnected) relationships with over nine (9) major backbone providers, including AT&T, Sprint, Level3, UUNet, C&W, and Qwest. This multi-path backbone provides the shortest possible route for all Internet traffic, and immediately reroutes traffic during times of congestion and upstream outages.

The ACS Speed Test provides an online speed test of your connection. It tests both your upload and download speeds. The test can take up to 30 seconds to complete. After the test is complete, a new window will appear with testing results for your circuit.

This test is a transfer of un-compressible data. It will not reflect modem compression speeds or the use of dialup-acceleration programs. The result shown is your circuit data transfer speed. If your connection is working correctly, and accounting for TCP/IP and PPP protocol overhead, you should see results within 90% of your subscribed speed.
